While promoting her upcoming project “Alien: Romulus,” Merced took a moment to reflect on her role in “Madame Web,” where she portrayed Anya Corazon alongside Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, and Emma Roberts. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Merced acknowledged the film’s poor reception but expressed hope that it might still gain a following as a “camp” classic.
Reflecting on her experience with “Madame Web,” Isabela Merced chooses to focus on the positives despite the film’s negative reception. Speaking candidly around the 24:00 mark of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, she said, “I’d say… I feel like every actor I know and admire has that one movie where it’s just so camp. It’s so camp.” She even joked about the possibility of a sequel decades down the line, saying, “There’s going to be a sequel like 20 years later.” Merced also shared that the group.
